Vinayaka Mission University (VMU) has been set up Under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 as a deemed university in India. The university status was conferred by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India with the recommendations of UGC to Vinayaka Mission as an acknowledgement of excellence and satisfaction for the highest levels of academic standards and its best infrastructure facilities provided to achieve excellence in education.
The vision and mission of Vinayak Mission University is to achieve excellence in education and to make education as a tool for social change for the betterment of the society. Also, to spread education globally in the field of Medicine, Dental, Paramedical, Homoeopathy, Engineering, Management and Basic science using existing resources and technology.

The varsity offers education to about 15,000 students every year in various colleges. Every year about 2000 Medical, Dental, Homoeopathy, Paramedical, Engineering and Management professionals besides arts & science graduates pass out from VMU campuses successfully.
The varsity has academic and industrial collaboration with many Governments, Private bodies and Universities from various countries. The University aims to become a renowned center for research in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Paramedical Sciences, Homoeopathy Medicine, Engineering, Technical & Management Sciences, Humanities and Arts & Sciences.
